Light and Shadow

Currently, I am creating a "忍" (shinobi) character wall art using nails.
Approximately 250 nails were used to create this Shinobi Moji art.
This photo was taken after I finished hammering in all the nails.
I plan to upload a photo of the finished piece, so please look forward to it.

The kanji "忍" (shinobi) is a character with deep roots in Japanese culture. Looking at its composition, it combines the upper part "刃" (ha/blade) and the lower part "心" (kokoro/heart), symbolizing "a heart that endures the blade." From this structure, "忍" has been used as a kanji representing perseverance and the spirit of patience.

Furthermore, "忍" not only means to endure but also carries the meanings of "to hide" and "to act secretly." For this reason, it is deeply connected to the concepts of ninja and ninjutsu, symbolizing the spirit of proceeding with things quietly.

In everyday life, it is used in words such as "忍耐" (nintai/patience) and "忍従" (ninjuu/submission), and is employed when expressing mental strength in the face of difficulties. There is also a proverb, "忍の一字は金の如し" (shinobi no ichiji wa kane no gotoshi/a single character of endurance is like gold), which conveys the ancient belief that enduring patiently leads to success.
